my situation... By Nancy

Eric...I to went through a similar situation to yours... At the age of 30, with a previous bachelor's degree in English, and 7 years in the working world, I realized that teaching was my calling. I did a lot of research| into programs in which I could receive my licensure. The best program I could find, which was offered at several universities in the area, was a M.Ed. program designed for people like ourselves that have previous degrees in other fields. My program is a mere 5 quarters (15 months), and when I graduate, I will have both my master's degree and my teaching license. Other schools offer just | | the licensure program, and take into consideration all the other schooling you have received. Start looking into things...you know what you want to do, and you'll make the sacrifices you need to do it. As far as your previous schooling being a waste...hogwash. Your extra schooling will only make you more valuable as an educator... Furthering ones knowledge can never be considered a waste of time. I wish you luck... I'm sure you'll make the best decision for you.
