Too Strict

I doubt your expectations are too high. I believe that if you expect more you will get more. I did have a class, as as student teacher, that said I was too strict. After I reflected on the class I realized it was not that my expectations were too high but it was the way I reacted when they did not meet my expectations. Sometimes students will feel uncomfortable if they think a teacher will not like them if they do not meet the teacher's expectations. I know I have no idea if this situation is similar to yours so please don't take offense if I am way off base.
