Whatever works for you.
By Melanie

Clip to ScrapBook
I tried it with a couple of classes and it worked great - they were mostly on task and loved the idea of passing notes. the following week I tried it with a class who could not shut-up so I thought this was the way to quiet
them down. Did it work? NO!! no one was doing work, just making a mess of passsing notes, others were still talking so I stopped it - there was no point. When they are doing great - verbal praise is what I give them. There is just so much a sub is going to do - if they are misbehaving do you keep them in after school? If they aren't with you before lunch, a break or the class before
dismissal - do you think they are going to come back? So you leave the teacher a note of who was causing problems - do they ever reprimand those students? Problems think we subs face everyday, good luck with the Mute minutes - I guess it really depends on the class.
