bribery or reward?

A very wise man once told me..."It is bribery if you are giving them something for doing the wrong thing, and a reward if you are giving them something for doing the right thing." (His very wise wife had said this to him.)This was a comment that my graduate school advisor made when I worried about rewarding my students with a treat after they had had a successful day with a guest teacher.
