Respect
By Sharon

Clip to ScrapBook
I am an adult, like I know you are, but I am an old adult. My children are grown ups with kids of their own. I have been in the childcare business for twenty years, and just recently have been teaching a pre-K class and love
it. On Friday's which is my day off I have subbed in the school district where we live. When I went back to teaching I thought I am older and hopefully wiser so it should be easier to walk into a classroom and be able to have children listen and respect me when I am their sub for that day. Most of the time it is great, but there are some classes that I have gone to and I am shocked at
the lack of reapect, it is horrible. I never acted like that, and my children, who were certainly not perfect, were not allowed to act like that to a teacher. I truly believe that things are different now than they used to be(I sound so old saying that), but it is true! My advice is keep trying. I am so picky this year, I only go to certain schools and I only relate well to the younger children. Again some days are better than others, and I do believe that when you have your own classroom it will be easier, but do hang in there and good luck!
