subbing with the tyro
By Dr Jack

Clip to ScrapBook
This is easy and it really is a free day with pay. That student teacher is there to learn and the best way is to leave them go. Let them try whatever they believe is the best approach to instruction and discipline short of frustration. If they are making glaring classroom errors, in reference to your experience, then it is your obligation to inform them. Always praise first, then lower the axe second! Just keep in mind their technique will always be different from yours, but it doesn't mean it is wrong or less than applicable. Give the tyro teach a chance to learn from their mistakes as you do with the kids.
