substitutTeacher's Union
By Barbara

Clip to ScrapBook
We have a Reserve Teachers Union in Dayton,Ohio
It has a lot to be desired but; we have come a long ways from 14 member when I first started substituting 8 years ago. You have to be on the same position 60 day without
a break in service to get long term pay. Everyone make $13.00 per hour after 30 days. We do not acquire sick leave and get paid for personal leave. We do not get paid when off for bad weather or during the school year breaks, or staff development half days for early dismissal. If you are sick after making your 30 days, you will revert back to regular pay $10.21 per hours. But if you
do not join before January 15th, there is a audomatic fair share deduction from your pay check. The best thing about it is you are protected in the event of a disagreement in the classroom.
