Business Cards & Notes By G.M.

Hi Everyone:I'll throw my two cents in. I have had great results with leaving business cards. They are computer generated by me, so they are not anything fancy. They have my name, position (substitute teacher), phone | # and email address. Many teachers will use my email address to thank me and/or ask if I'm available on such and such dates. They know I check my email daily; so they can be assured a quick response. I also leave a form that I made to let the teacher know how the day went. I try to be very concise - not wordy. And I made the form to where the teacher can go directly to the info that |
| she or he wants. I also write in the margins of the lesson plans left. I note if the lesson was difficult or went well. Of couse, I note if the lesson was not presented or completed and the reason(s) why. Teachers have commented that they appreciate the form.I have found that if the teacher leaves you fairly detailed lesson plans and notes, then he or she really appreciates detailed notes from me, the sub. If a teacher leaves sparse notes for me, I often try to be VERY concise with my notes to that particular teacher. I highly recommend using both cards and premade note forms. I think they indicate that a sub is taking her/his job seriously. I have had two offers for longterm sub positions this week. Now, to decide what to do! Hope this helps someone. G.M.
