ISS By Dedi

I agree with Diane. It's a very cool position to have, and very good for the teachers and kids in the school. The title preferred subsitute is awful though! We have this job in my district, but it is titled ISS. ISS stands for "instructional support staff" (also happens to work with "in school substitute," as the older kids often say), but this title is rarely used-- the kids all know your name and see you every day and just accept you completely when you come in the room, so it's not an issue. Apart from the term "preferred substitute," I think it's a great system!
