Bad words
By Richard

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree that students are in a way desensitized to hearing bad language, but we should not use that as justification for sloppy word usage. I agree with Melissa, if we practice poor speech outside of the classroom, it will
surely come out sometime within the classroom. "Garbage in, garbage out".

Personally, I do not use foul language, but there have been times where a slip occurred because the sound or syllables were so close.

Also, I've noticed that even though I don't use foul language, because I am exposed to it every day in the media, etc. that your mind knows what these words are and it will

sometimes form the words out of words that are close if you are not extremely careful. We are to be careful. We are to model proper speech. If we do as a rule, then if a slip occurs which is "not us" they will know it as well!
