Kindergarten
By lovetoteach

Clip to ScrapBook
I love kindergarten as well...maybe because I worked in the early childhood field for 4 years while finishing my Bachelors degree. Anyway...I have been working a great deal in a K class that has as many children with special
needs as it does "regular ed" students. And many of the students have pretty severe special needs (autism, downs syndrome). The first day I was asked to sub in that room, I figured would probably be my last. Most subs don't go back after the first time...but I LOVED IT! The day flew by because I was constantly busy, and I had so much support from the other teacher and aides in the room.
I love seeing how the children all interact with one another and how much they learn from each other. It is great! I didn't have any real experience in the special ed. field prior to subbing, and thought I would never be able to do it. But thanks to this classroom I have so much more confidence in my abilities as a teacher. Kindergarten is definitely one of the toughest grades, but it can be so rewarding!
