Kindergarten By lovetoteach

I love kindergarten as well...maybe because I worked in the early childhood field for 4 years while finishing my Bachelors degree. Anyway...I have been working a great deal in a K class that has as many children with special| needs as it does "regular ed" students. And many of the students have pretty severe special needs (autism, downs syndrome). The first day I was asked to sub in that room, I figured would probably be my last. Most subs don't go back after the first time...but I LOVED IT! The day flew by because I was constantly busy, and I had so much support from the other teacher and aides in the room. | | I love seeing how the children all interact with one another and how much they learn from each other. It is great! I didn't have any real experience in the special ed. field prior to subbing, and thought I would never be able to do it. But thanks to this classroom I have so much more confidence in my abilities as a teacher. Kindergarten is definitely one of the toughest grades, but it can be so rewarding!
