sub plans
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
When I graduated, it was in Dec. and I subbed out the year and got a teaching position the next. I have been teaching four years so I have been on both sides.

I make sure I give very detailed plans, leave a list of rules,
helpers, etc. because I have been in classrooms where I wasn't left much of anything. I have also been the student teacher left with a sub. Now that really gripes my cookies. I was teaching all day, not getting paid and having a sub sit there all day and GET paid----but that's a whole different story---sorry for the rampage!!

Anyway, she probably didn't leave any plans because

she knew the student teacher would be teaching. That was a poor choice on her part. However, I know that didn't get you off to a good start with subbing!!! At our school, the subs have to fill out an "evaluation" on that teacher and turn it in before they leave. When the teacher returns, she/he has to fill one out on the sub as well. You might check at the office when you leave. If not, just tell them you were asking because you had some concerns since you had no plans. They need to know this! Good Luck and DON'T give up....We need you SUBS!!!!
