No calls today blues
By Ken M.

Clip to ScrapBook
I increased the number of schools I am on the sub'ing list for but still have days when I don't hear from anyone but then days when I could be in 3 places.

Most of the schools in my area - 25 mile radius - are quite small
so I will take virtually any class/subject.

Since I have a Wisconsin license for emergency sub'ing with a maximum of 20 days in one assignment I suspect some schools, at least, will exhaust their certified sub's (prior teaching experience) so I likely sit towards the bottom of the heap.

I am also trying ways to market myself to the building staff and call-in folks. None of my schools

use the automated caller system.

I recently got a cell phone and am going to make up a brief note with that # as well as my home #. Once in a while, when home, I will get a call during the day and I suspect those that call generally do not like to leave voicemail although a few do but a few have told me they want to line someone up so keep moving until they got a real voice.

I'm finding these posts very useful; I'd like to hear of some specific marketing tools others use.

Best, Ken M. in Wisconsin
