Maternity Leave
By Wynona

Clip to ScrapBook
I accepted a maternity leave substitute position right after I student taught. I was also unsure of what I should tell the parents in a letter. In my case the teacher left an outline of what should be taught the six weeks she would be out. Plus our state assessment will be given two weeks after she returns. I basically told the parents who I was and that I was excited to be teaching their child. I also told them that I would be following an outline left by the teacher and about my experience teaching in that school. I let them know that I was aware of the state assessment and that I would prepare the students to succeed. I hope this helps. Good luck!! I hope you love it as much as I do.
