Well, I have heard both from school districts. I've had a school district say that they contact the people from their sub list first before posting a job. I've even had the principal of a school reccommend me for a job in another district before, but I also know that a lot of districts don't like to take away from their sub list. A lot of teachers have told me that to make sure that I introduce myself to the principals in the schools I sub and make it known that I'm looking for a permanent job. They also say to make sure the sub caller knows because they often know about openings in the district. Hope this helps!
