Clip to ScrapBook
I don't know if this will help or not. Last year, there was a K student in our school who would not talk to any adult or to other children when she thought adults could hear her. Her teacher saw her talking to other children
sometimes and her mother said she talked at home. After a few months, the school psy. recommended that they move the child's desk near the teacher's and when the teacher called roll, if the child didn't say that she was there, she was assumed to be absent (for purposes of fun activities, not actually counted absent on the roll). The first day, she didn't speak, and wasn't allowed to
do the fun stuff that the other kindergarteners were doing that day. Pretty soon (within the day) she was talking. The child you're asking about may have some deeper underlying problems, so I don't know if this will work.
