Clip to ScrapBook
Maria,

What I use are picture cards. I got mine from a website (www.do2learn.com). The ones I use are the "do not interupt" "Be Quiet" "Back to Work" "Sit in your seat"

When the child is doing something he shouldn't be, I just hold up the card. I do not speak to him, I do not even look at him. This works 8 out of 10 times.

If the child you are teaching can read, write it down!! Write it all down!! I have used notes to pull my student out of fits multiple times. Autistic children crave the written word and it goes into their head so much easier than the oral language does.

I hope this helps a bit!
