My OT gave us a fidget toy called a FiddlLink. It looks like a triangle shaped trinket that turns...seems pretty indestructable. That would probably be a good thing to keep him occupied. OR...how about a mini rubix cube? or a small metal slinky? or a all rubber-like koosh ball? another OT suggested putting a small bit of the scratchy side of velcro underneath the desk so they can feel it and generally go unnoticed. good luck!
