I like the idea about the students KNOWING when it is time to come...and on their own. The way it happens at our school is that we go and get the children from their classes which costs valuable time. Sometimes I pull from
2 or 3 classes. Often, the teacher forgets to send them. Some teachers prefer that I don't get them at all. Which brings up inclusion. We use inclusion often for 3-5th grade. How do you work with the reg. ed. teacher in the class?
I think many teachers don't want another teacher and others would be very happy. I could have as many as 7 or 8 kids with IEP's in a class and it is some
fast work to jump in for 30 min and serve
them well. I was thinking of giving a survey to the teachers I will be working with next year. I could have something like: best way to communicate work ...email....weekly meetings...file folder in your class ...file in the teachers lounge....maybe a place for suggestions to improve quality of the program. Would I be opening myself up to too many cooks?
I fully understand flexibility. I am pretty good at being multi-task orientated. Thank you for your help.
