Reg.ed/Spec. ed
By Pen

Clip to ScrapBook
I can only give my experience. I taught in spec. ed. for 4 years. It wasn't easy, but I was getting the hang of it by the third year. I also changed grade levels during that time. Then I was asked to train in a specific reading program, and have been teaching reg ed. kids with reading difficulties for the last 4 years. That said, I miss special ed. But I do remember the difficulties; a lot of paper work, so many reading levels in one class, lack of parental support, etc., but I think I'm going to try to get back in it next year. So, I guess just talk to other spec. ed. teachers, and get as much input as you can. Then go with your gut feeling. Good luck to you!
