I teach sp ed self-contained severe-profound at the high school level. The only break that I get is when the students go to Adaptive PE. That is 30 minutes, if I have the fortune of not being interupted. The other special ed teachers at the high school get lunch, plus two prep periods. That is so unfair!!! I come to school early and stay late -- and the paperwork is still not done! What keeps me going is to keep focused on the students and the rewards I get from teaching.
