Dictionary skills worksheet

I recently made up a grid for the students to use with their spelling words. First column they write their spelling words in ABC order. Their task is to look up the spelling words. In the second column they write the guide words. In the third column they write down the parts of speech and in the final column they write a paraphrased definition for the word. Once they learn how to do this it's a good filler activity and they become extremely efficient at looking up words in the dictionary. I also have a class set of dictionaries which makes this activity possible.
