Contractions
By Cheri

Clip to ScrapBook
There is a book by the Stick Out Your Neck Series called Phonics Fun (Grade 2) that has songs and worksheets to teach contractions, synonyms, antonyms, etc...The author is Barbara Wilson. I used it in my second grade classroom while student teaching and it seemed to work pretty well.

I also made flash cards with the two words that make up a contraction (ex. do and not) and also one for the contraction (don't). The students had to match up the two words with the contraction. I used this as a center activity for our Balanced Literacy program. Hope this helps.
