Heather, I agree with Kathy...after many years of teaching I see a very sad trend. Many parents expect teachers to take over their responsibilities ---- they confuse parenting and teaching. I had a very long telephone conversation with a parent who went on and on and on about how her daughter takes up so much of her time each night fighting about homework, etc. etc. and asked if there was a way I could stay after school and be sure her daughter completes homework!!!!!My reply was short and swift.....My job is teaching, your job is parenting. Have a wonderful day!
