Reading - Grade 3
By MJ

Clip to ScrapBook
I am a second year grade 3 teacher, and I am in the same boat. I have non readers all the way up to guided reading level R as well. We have a reading series that is mostly built on guided reading. There is very little skills practice. Most of us have gone to using our old reading basil as well as the new guided reading. This way the kids get the different kinds of comprehension questions, as well as some time to read at their own level. It works out, but the teacher has to make a lot of it on their own. At least the kids end up getting what they need though, and it works for all levels of readers.
