social studies lesson
By Betsy

Clip to ScrapBook
I recently wrote a great social studies lesson and used it for an observation as well. It was called Presidential Trading Cards. There is a pretty good lesson plan on the ask eric lesson plan site or you can email me and
I can send you mine. Anyway, here is what I basically did. Each student was given a baseball card to use as a model. Then I gave them a workseet that looked like a giant blank trading card. They were required to write the name of their assigned president (I assigned one pres. to every 2 students), his birth and death dates, 2 presidential facts, and 2 personal facts on the card.
They also had to draw a picture of the president on it. When everyone was finished the students presented their cards to the class. It was a great lesson and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
