I just moved to NC from SC and started a new teaching job today! I was teaching third in SC and now am also teaching third. It is very difficult to change my habits to fit a new school and a new group of students! Also, the students have had a substitute since November so they are really needing some structure. I know the first few weeks will be rough but as a 2nd year teacher here are some hints: Be consistant with all rules and procedures. Try not to get frustrated. Remember that the kids are just as nervous as you are.This is my mantra for myself until things calm down!! Hope it helps!
