graphic organizers
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
I use a variety of graphic organizers to get them started. We use webs, story maps, etc. We find our main idea and then add supporting detail. When we first start, I let them use invented spelling and just focus on getting their story down. Then we go back and correct spelling, puntuation, capital letters, etc. They read to a partner and that partner tells them 1.What they like about the story 2.What they might be confused about their story.
Hope I haven't left anything out! Good Luck!
