I have been teaching 3rd grade for eleven years and guess what? I still feel the same stress you are feeling. I have tried two approaches. I have started early in the year reviewing for it and I have waited until about 2 weeks before the test. The students have always done about the same. I think the best way to get ready is to practice a standardized testing procedure. My students are not usually accustomed to standardized tests so I try to make sure they know what to expect.
