Why Teach?

I've been teaching for 16 years...Do I like it?Most of the time...sometimes it's just a job...It is more of a challenge every year...It's never dull...My "accountability" is a pain...seems parents and students are NEVER to
blame...always must send homework that is rarely done...I often think that people believe all children can learn at the same rate-Bull.The profession has become so test driven we are forgetting our children.Second grade is great...almost housebroken,but not yet so smart alecked.I teach all subjects-can be a preparation strain-but provides diversity which can be refreshing.If your heart

tells you to teach-follow it...you won't regret it.If money is an issue-prepare to sacrifice-I'm a single male who struggles-THERE IS OFTEN TOO MUCH MONTH AT THE END OF THE MONEY!Remember teaching is important...one needs an education,even if the need is not fully appreciated.My advice to you is get in a classroom as soon as possible-volunteer,sub,whatever...see now if it's for you...don't wait until you student teach...I really have few regrets.
