I taught a lesson on contractions a few months ago and the kids learned the skill by song. if you email me I will email the song to u . It is sang to the tune of Mary has a little lamb. In addition, u will probably benefit from letting the kids play a matching card game. For example, on one index card write the contraction. On a second index card write the two words. hide the contractions around the room and have the kids go on a contraction hunt. Good Luck
