I also thought about reading the book to my students because I have enjoyed all four of the books. However, a first grade teacher read book one to her students last year. I have some of the students today and they didn't understand the book at all. They never ask to hear book two and don't really even talk about the books. I would give them a few more years because I am sure the upper levels will be working with these books.
