spelling games

Hi! Sometimes we play Guess the Word. You play by choosing a word from the spelling list, describing it and having the child guess what the word is and then spell it using the say-spell-say method. For instance if your word was Christmas, you could say, "This is a holiday we celebrate on December 25th." It's fun and the childen like it. You can also spell words using the say- spell- say method and having the children clap their hands instead of saying the vowels. Good Luck.
