I INCORPORATE THE LESSON INTO THEIR TUESDAY NIGHT HOMEWORK WHICH IS CREATING SENTENCES FROM THEIR SPELLING WORDS. IF I AM TEACHING NOUNS, MY STUDENTS HAVE TO UNDERLINE ONE NOUN IN EACH SENTENCE THEY CREATE. THIS ALSO CONNECTS HOME AND SCHOOL SINCE I ENCOURAGE THE STUDENTS TO ASK THEIR PARENTS IF THEY ARE NOT SURE ON A GRAMMER SKILL. EACH WEEK I CHANGE THE SKILL, ONE WEEK NOUNS, THEN VERBS, CONTRACTIONS AND SO ON. THEIR SENTENCES HAVE IMPROVED GREATLY AND THEY ARE LEARNING GRAMMER SKILLS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.
