writer's workshop
By Charlotte

Clip to ScrapBook
Check out the book Writing Balancing Process and Product, I think the author is Thompkins. It has an excellent chapter or two on writer's workshp. There are many ways to set it up. Basically the students go through the writing process, prewriting or brainstorming, drafting, editing or revising and publishing. You don't necessarily have to publish everything but it is a good incentive for the editing. You really need to read about it- it is hard to explain quickly.
