My first graders like to play a game that I learned here on Proteacher...Eraser.
We write the word "eraser" on the board twice and divide into two teams..I call out a number sentence and then slowly count to five...on my fingers. They must answer before I get to five. If they are correct they go to the back of the line, if they miss it, I erase a letter from their team's word, and they still go to the back of the line. The winner is the team with letters left. Students do not go to their seat but must continue to participate even if they miss.
