science project

So, when is open house??? What I'm really asking is how long do you have to put this together? If you have a few weeks you can have the kids plant seeds and grow them under different circumstances - one without water, one
without air (in a plastic bag), one without sunlight (in a closet), one without soil (planted in gravel or sand), one without warmth (kept in the freezer). They should observe the plants every few days and write about what they see. They can also draw pictures to create a plant diary.

If you don't have time for that another fun project is to grow crystals using different household

substances. Dissolve salt, sugar, epsom salt and washing soda in water and let the crystals grow onto bamboo skewers or string. The students can draw and write about this process to form part of your display. E-mail me if neither of these projects fits the bill.
