We are in the same boat! I have taught Kindergarten for 10 years and will be teaching First Grade next year. I wanted the change and am very excited but like you I am a little nervous. What will help both of us is that we will have a good knowledge base of the Kindergarten curriculum. Also, I think many of the activities we do in Kindergarten can be adapted to First grade at a higher level. I also think that Kindergarten can be emotionally and physically draining at times, especially at the beginning of the school year. Hopefully, First graders will be more adjusted to the school day and able to be more independent. We will see! Good Luck!
