We read "Blueberries For Sal." We've been doing comparison/conrasts on characters and selves and characters. The characters in the story act similarly (Sal and Little Bear, Mother and Motheer Bear). plus, both pairs aree getting ready for next winter. Great lead-ins for comparisons on characters. you can use a venn diagram. As a finale, we had fresh blueberries and i gave each student a "Solo" cup to make the blueberries go "ker-plink, ker-plank, ker-plunk" just like in the story.
