Clip to ScrapBook
Have a vegetable tasting party.
Plant vewgetable seeds.
Give them unlabeled seeds and have them predict what might come up.
Make sharing soup, using a boullion(sp?) base and some/all of the vegetables from the story.
Have
the children write a recipe for their favorite soup.
Make patterns or pictures using vegetable prints.
Write a script for a Readers Theatre using the text as a base..Have the children read from your script.
Have the children draw a flow chart or fill in areas in a flow chart that you drew, showing the sequence of plowing/hoeing, planting, growing, harvesting vegetables
in the garden.
Teach the little song to the tune of Row Row Row your Boat,,,(think I remember the words)
"Hoe, hoe, hoe your rows
In the summers' heat
Peas and potatoes, corn and tomatoes
Are good for you to eat."
Hope this helps and is not too late.
