Ideas for first graders

I hate to say this, but you could always show a movie. This is the method that teachers in my building often use when put into your situation. I myself usually teach a lesson on how to treat others....we use the second step program. I also give them a snack...read a favorite story...have a coloring contest...play a game...just keep it active and constantly changing so they don't get bored.
