Hibernation
By Vanessa C

Clip to ScrapBook
Why not hibernate!!!!

Last year my grade ones and I learned about hibernation through stories, as they already are quite aware what it entails as we live in northern Canada and many of the families hunt and the children
are aware of animal patterns. Anyway, one morning we made bear ears (with construction paper and cheap hairbands from the dollar store) (actually each girl brought her own, I brought some for the boys, and they didn't even make a fuss about wearing them-they thought that it was cool).

First we ate. I brought a snack (and it also happended to be a child's birthday- so her mom had cupcakes

for everyone as well.)

Next, we hibernated- I turned out all of the lights and the children went into their dens (under desks) and slept

Then we awoke, because it was spring!! and the children got up and walked around (on all fours of course). We ended with a video.

It was a lot of fun!!! The chidren had a great time!!!

Happy Hibernating!!

Vanessa
