I am new to this site and I have't had a chance to go through all of the responses to this inquiry so if I have repeated someones suggestion, I apologize. I also teach grade one and our entire school has agendas. The grade ones are too small to be able to write their homework in their agenda each night so what we do (4 grade one classes) is staple worksheets into their agenda each Monday based on what we are doing in class (about 5 of them) as well as their spelling words for the week and some spelling activities (using each word in a sentence or putting the words in alphabetical order). I hope these ideas help!
