Writer's Workshop
By Natasha

Clip to ScrapBook
I was fortunate enough to go to a half day training on writer's workshop, and I am also starting it with my first graders after the holidays. When I went to training, she stressed to start out with the basics in your mini-lessons. For example, capitalization, spacing, staying on topic. She also suggested writing a story with your students. I would definitately invest in chart tablets because she always did her mini-lessons on chart paper for easy reference. Also, writing folders for each child helps with organization as well as conference schedule. I know this sounds kind of jumbled...Sorry if I confused you! I am going to check out that book suggested in the previous response.
