My kids will trace their hands on burlap and then sew around them with yarn. Those that are more adept can use star stencils and trace/sew those too. Then we will glue this on felt and make them into a wall hanging.

I also had some old tiles donated to me and I read on another board where a teacher spray painted tiles gold and then was going to have the children paint the tiles with acrylic paint and then put felt on the back. I'm going to try this project, this year, too.
