power point slides

Clip to ScrapBook
An easy model that was tried with 5th graders here was to give them an opportunity to try after a quick intro. The intro was basically the lesson of "...enter your content first.....then worry about the extras...." They
had 2 "practice sessions" which was some very basic intro and then time to try themselves. They were limited in the number of slides they could do and only found "sounds" in relation to transitions. The teachers and technology aides in the lab helped students find clip art or pictures from the internet (using Google image search is the easiest) and showed them how to save their images
and put them in their slides. You may want to save the scanning lesson for another time. You'll find them showing each other how to do this stuff!! The most important learning experience in the process came from spending the last half of the practice session having students share their practice creations with the class using an lcd projector allowing for discussion about what was good, what needed improvement and things to consider when creating a "visual presentation".
