ideas....

Clip to ScrapBook
First, let them know that in most cases they cannot "mess up" the comptuer. While it was possible in the past, most computers now days can be shut down and brought back up with no problem. I guess I am trying to say, make
them at ease with the computer so they can learn in a relaxed state.

Can you put your "mistake" poem on a 3.5" disk and then show the student how to load a file from disk? Does your System Admin person allow you to load files from floppy disks? If you want to teach 5 students at a time, make 5 disks. Teaching this should not take more than a couple of minutes per 5 students, so you could

get this out of the way in about 10 minutes. Then you could go on with your editing and formatting lesson. Also if they have not learned to do so, teach them how to save every 10-15 min. Believe me, it saves a lot of frustration if the power goes out. Teach them to save to the hard drive and also back to the 3.5" disk.

For more of my ideas, look for more of my posts (Mark/GA). I have posted ideas for Powerpoint, Word, and Excel. Let me know if you need more help!
