Clip to ScrapBook
Dear Maria,

I went from half to full day 3 years ago. My district is also very academic. We start picking up students at 7:50 and school goes from 8:10-3:10. Silent reading, put away things 20 min. Calendar/story 40min,
writing(using the word wall, sounding out words to make sentences)lots of instruction at the beginning of the year 45 min, activity(art, music, p.e.)50min,writing is broken up by activity, assigned theme centers(guided reading) 30min(I take 2 groups a day), language(alphabet, phonics, shared reading) 30min, lunch/recess 40min, math 40min, story/ silent reading(I have a few who fall
asleep, many do pratice reading their books) 20min, theme activity 40 min, recess 15min, free centers 30min, closure, get ready to go 15 min. I have no aide, but I do get a planning time during specials. I also have library once a week. I did most of these activities during half day but not in as much depth or every day. Full day is much nicer for me. I hope this helps

Crystal
