I have been teaching for over 15 years - and my best advise is to integrate - you can teach a lesson about winter, count snowflakes, discuss and wear winter clothes, find cold places in the East, West, North and South! You can read the story The Mitten and continue the lesson discussing family, animals, the more background knowledge and prior knowledge you bring into your classroom and to your students so they can identify and relate the more learnig will take place and trust me they will enjoy the whole discovery...
