Clip to ScrapBook
Teacher's Helper has some great writing prompts. Last year I used them and your post reminds me to take them out again. I copied the story prompt page (maybe 8 per page) and the children glued them to the front of a folded 12x18 paper. Each day the children copied one of the prompts onto a paper (that has a few lines at the top) and tried to finish writing the story, usually just a few words of invented spelling. They then illustrated it. All of the papers were kept in the homemade folder until the prompts were all used up. Each month they got a new page of prompts.
